Who better to handle onboarding, user training, and regular meetings with procurement teams than a former buyer? To provide the best possible support to our customers after go-live, we’ve brought Valentin on board last summer. As a former commodity buyer, he speaks the language of our customers and supports them within our Customer Success Management with valuable advice and hands-on assistance. Valentin shares insights into his role at ivoflow in his blog post.
What does your professional career look like?
2018 I started off as a commodity buyer – Indirect procurement/procurement controlling at Rastal – a glass refiner for the beverage industry. A year later I decided that a study would be best for my personal development, so I started my bachelor’s degree in business administration at HS Koblenz in 2019. After I got my bachelor’s degreeI worked as a Commodity Buyer - Technical and Project Procurement/ EnergyProcurement at Steuler Group - a global company specializing in industrial plant engineering and corrosion protection, until 2024, when I became a member of the ivoflow team.
Why did you want to become a part of the ivoflow team?
I always found it exciting to work in a start-up, as I wanted to experience the difference between small and large companies. The flat hierarchy is an upside in small companies, besides that I really like the vision of ivoflow: As a former commodity buyer I can confirm that the solution makes strategic procurement a lot easier.
What are your tasks at ivoflow?
As Lead Customer Success Manager, I am the main contact person for our customers. One of my tasks is the designing and implementing of training content within the onboarding. In our weekly Jour Fix meetings, we adress our client's inquiries regarding our current features, while also considering their requests for the development of new functionalities. Overall, I am responsible for providing procurement consultancy and supporting the realization of cost-saving potentials with ivoflow. The primary goal of my role is to ensure optimal support for our clients, ultimately enhancing their satisfaction.
What has been your professional highlight during your time at ivoflow/ which project have you enjoyed the most?
The Onboarding Project with one of our biggest customers has been my highlight so far. Working with the customer's project team is a lot of fun as the project is being rolled out very well.
Which project was challenging and why?
Also the above mentioned onboarding because with the onboarding of the 50 key users and over 750 end users it is a very large project. It is a completely new experience for our young company on this scale and each of us can be proud to have now realized the go-live.
